Comments on - Harvey John Wk2 Reading: ADL/SCORM

Last paragraph which is part of John Harvey's comment.

I am skeptical of SCORM, because as we discussed last night in our Wimba session, each new generation of technology seems to devour the previous one. How would the model be usable in a newer generation of management systems? How would the content of the RLOs not need to be updated with constantly changing variables (regulations, for example)? A standard for the industry is a great idea, but updates in packaging the content are an inevitability.

John - You are absolutely correct.  In every new wave, technology changes how we used to look at handling previously built tools.  As the shores of Ireland, rock formations are formed in unique shapes over periods of time. The evolution of technology can only be enhanced by how we change the way we operate.

The change will always continue to change. It is up to corporations who are not compliant in how to deliver and manage training to adapt to the new concept or it will fail due to its workforce not be educated to follow procedures and methodologies that once made the company so successful.
